TOWIE’s James Argent Spends Christmas in Rehab

James ArgentAfter spending the Christmas period in rehabilitation, James Argent has thanked fans for supporting him through this tough time. The TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) star promised to be back on the show soon after being suspended in October. It is alleged that the reality actor tested positive for cocaine and, after checking into the Priory, is receiving round-the-clock care in a bid to kick the habit and help him get back with his ex, Lydia Bright.

Return to the Show

Argent, or Arg as he is known as, missed the Christmas special and producers have yet to decide if he will be allowed to return for next year’s series of the popular show. However, it looks as though the suspension from the show has given him the kick-start he needed to get help. A source said that, “James was devastated by his suspension from the show and is truly sorry for letting down the cast and production team on the last series. He’s made the brave decision to spend his birthday and the festive period in rehab.”

Failed Drugs Test

Despite Arg being one of the most popular stars of TOWIE and an original cast member, his failed drugs test gave producers little choice other than to suspend him. Since the suspension, Arg realised that he needed help and his stay in the Priory should ensure he gets back to his old self and back on the show as soon as possible.

How Rehabilitation Can Help

It is important to realise that treatment for a drug addiction takes time and requires dedication from the addict. Those with a dependency on drugs or alcohol must want to kick the habit in order for rehabilitation to be successful. However, with the right help, many addicts go on to live a life of sobriety. Addiction Helpline can help addicts and their families by providing support and by advising on treatment options available for a variety of addictions including addiction to drugs and alcohol as well as behavioural addictions to behaviours such as sex, gambling, or shopping.

Choosing a Treatment Programme

There are many options available when it comes to treatment for addiction, but no specific treatment is right for everyone. What works for one addict might not necessarily work for another. Our counsellors will discuss your situation and will advise on the best treatment for your needs. One thing is for sure; if the addict feels comfortable with the treatment and facility that they have chosen, he or she is more likely to stick with the programme. This will greatly affect their chances of success.

A successful treatment programme will address every aspect of the addict’s life rather than just the actual addiction. Treating the issues that caused the addiction in the first place is the best way to ensure that the individual does not relapse and can live a long and healthy sober life. A good rehabilitation centre will tailor treatment to the individual and, if necessary, use therapy in conjunction with medication.

For some individuals, residential care is the best chance of success as this allows them to get better away from all temptations. However, this option may not be ideal for everyone. Not everyone can afford to stay in a residential treatment programme; at Addiction Helpline, we understand this. We know that everyone’s situation is different, which is why we work with you and your family to find the most suitable treatment.
